Location

Simpson is almost halfway between Los Angeles (540 miles north of) and Portland, Oregon (433 miles south of). Only 150 miles north of Sacramento, Simpson lies in the beautiful northern end of  California's central valley.

Students

1056 total students for fall 2007. 861 undergraduates; 153 graduate students. Simpson students come from 12 states and more than six foreign countries.

36 full-time; 64 percent with the highest degree in their field.

Campus

85-acre campus with pond and multiple water features; 12 major buildings, including a 45,000-square-foot Owen Student Services Center, computer and science labs, high-tech classrooms, black-box theater, resident and commuter student lounges, infirmary, meditation plaza and prayer walk, six residence halls providing 590 beds, married student apartments, and a dining center. Also, soccer and softball fields, outdoor basketball courts, a 1,000-seat gymnasium, and a 9-hole disc golf course (Take a Virtual Campus Tour).

Honor Societies

Alpha Chi is a national co-educational academic honors society that was founded in 1922 with the expressed purpose "to promote academic excellence and exemplary character among college and university students and to honor those who achieve such distinction." Simpson started its Alpha Chi chapter in 2004. Invitation to membership will be extended to those students who are in the top 10 percent of their institution's junior and senior classes. Accordingly, students must have a current grade-point average (GPA) of 3.6 and must also be of at least junior standing. Students are admitted from all academic disciplines.

Alumni

Our alumni are evidence that Simpson University truly is the 'Gateway to World Service.' They have entered fields from accounting to aviation, pastoring to overseas missions, and banking to business. They serve as childcare providers and counselors, TV news anchors and political speechwriters, schoolteachers and administrators, loan officers and financial advisors, lawyers and medical professionals, and the list goes on.
