Morgan-Sharpe
Name: Becky Weber, Resident Director
Hometown: West Linn, OR
Education/Experience: Graduated from Simpson College in 2001 with a BA in communications. After graduation I relocated to Loudonville Ohio, where I pursued a Masters Degree in Clinical Pastoral Counseling. After logging over 700 hours in my counseling internship where I worked with University and Seminary students, I finished graduate school in 2004, and received my official profession counseling license. While in Ohio I volunteered as a youth leader, went on mission trips, and lead the high school bible study for four years. I also conducted and lead a number of seminars and workshops for the community all focused on womens issues.
Interests: I love being outdoors. Hiking, swimming, walking through a field, are some of my favorites. I also love animals, particularly Swiss dairy cows, county fairs and rodeos. Great music, inspiring movies, public speaking, traveling, and having great heart to heart conversations with people, are some of the things I live for.
Favorite book: Anything by CS Lewis or Phillip Yancy. But right now the book on my night stand is The Will of God as a Way of Life it may become a new favorite.
Favorite movie: Can't decide...favorite inspirational "The Passion", favorite romance "The Notebook", favorite childhood movie "Goonies" or "The Never Ending story", favorite Christmas movie "A Christmas Story".
Favorite Scripture verse: Psalm 91
Interesting fact: I'm half Swiss and grew up on a 500 cow dairy farm. Five years ago we relocated the dairy (and all the cows) from Oregon to Ohio, where we now have great Amish neighbors. In 1996 I was the Clackamas County Dairy Princess, and still promote milk every chance I get.
What do I love about Simpson? I love that God is at work in this place. Every time that I've ever stepped foot on this campus, I've always felt His presence here. I also love quality of staff and faculty who have such a passion to see God's people grow both in learning and in discipleship. Working for Simpson has been a dream of mine since I was a student and now that I'm a Resident Director I feel like the luckiest girl in the world. I love this place.
