Study Hard

Studying is a huge part of being a student at Simpson. Although studying can be a challenge, there are many places on and off campus to keep students engaged in their study sessions.

When you're tired of studying in your dorm room, consider these options:

  • The Biltmore Coffee Shop on campus. Biltmore has wireless Internet access, delicious coffee and a variety of snacks for you to enjoy while studying in comfortable arm chairs.
  • Winchell's Donut House, open 24 hours. Winchell's is a great place to go for on late nights during midterms or finals week when your roommates are asleep, and you need a quick cup of ice cream.
  • The Student Lounge in the Heritage Student Life Center. This is an ideal spot for a study group. Discussions with other students who are learning the same things can be helpful in learning and understanding class material.
  • Your dorm lobby. There are couches, pool tables, ping pong tables and Nintendo for study breaks during those intense sessions.
  • The lakes. Nearby Whiskeytown and Shasta lakes offer quiet surroundings for some quality studying.
  • A nearby Starbucks. There is always a open chair and a friendly face at one of the three locations near campus.
