Get Involved

There are many ways to get involved in the Simpson community. Whether your passion is helping other students, planning exciting events, leading small groups, or being involved in decision-making, Simpson has many opportunities for you. Take advantage, get involved and make a difference.

Resident Assistant (RA)

Each floor in each dorm has one Resident Assistant, a student who is 'in charge' of the floor. The three RA’s in each building report to the Resident Director, a staff member who lives in the dorm. An RA plans floor activities and helps make dorm life as enjoyable as possible. RA’s must be at least junior standing.

Assistant RA (ARA)

The assistant RA is another contact for the students on the floor and assists the RA in planning and facilitating. Assistant RA’s are generally sophomores and juniors.

Small group/prayer leader

Each dorm has small groups or prayer groups. The number of groups is dependent on the number of leaders in a particular dorm. Small group leaders facilitate Bible studies or prayer gatherings with the students in their dorm.

Student Activities board

Student activity coordinators put on events all year long that enhance the community life on campus. The Student Activities board plans exciting and fun events that student love, including Nitelife, Spring Formal, the toga party, and much more.

ASBSU Senate

Positions in student senate include ASB president, ASB vice-president, treasurer, and individual class presidents and vice presidents.

First Year Experience leader (FYE)

FYE leaders are the first contacts for new students. Leaders facilitate group time once a week getting to know new students and helping to make the transition into college as smooth as possible.

Diversity Intern

The Global Diversity Council promotes diversity awareness on campus using events such as movie forums and fundraisers for global causes.

Social Action Committee

The Social Action Committee promotes awareness on campus of current events. The committee meets once a week, and puts on special events. If your passion is standing up for social issues and injustice, this is the group for you.

Mission Team Leader

Simpson sends out approximately 15 mission teams each spring break and summer to locations all around the world. Team leaders are often students who have participated in previous mission teams, and students with a heart for missions. Team leaders must be sophomore standing or higher.
