Did you know that roughly one-third of Simpson University students commute to campus? Our commuter students are an integral part of Simpson's student population, and we want you to be successful.

The Office of Commuter Student Affairs values you as an important member of the Simpson community. Whether you're a first-time commuter or a returning student, we want to make your Simpson experience as enriching, pleasurable, and cost-effective as possible. We offer services, programs, advocacy, research, and outreach tailor-made to fit the unique needs of Simpson's commuter students.

As a commuter student, you can take advantage of events designed with your needs and schedule in mind, lockers for storage of personal belongings, a commuter student lounge, and e-mail updates with information regarding Simpson activities. We're a highly motivated staff, and we're available to assist you in your academic and personal success. We hope you will use our office as a resource.

Commuter Student Organization

We are in the process of starting a new Commuter Student Organization at Simpson. Run by students, the CSO will be in charge of planning and executing meetings and events for commuter students. Involvement in the CSO will be an excellent way to meet other commuter students and get involved in the university.

Can Commuters Eat in the Dining Center?

Eating in the dining center is an excellent way to fellowship with other Simpson students, relax, meet with a study group, or grab a bite to eat before classes. Rather than paying for each meal separately, commuter students can purchase either a 25-meal punch-card, which costs $75, or a 50-meal punch-card, which costs $145. The cost per meal averages $3. Cards can be purchased at the register in the dining center, and a hole is punched in the card each time a meal is used.
