Simpson Aid

Simpson institutional aid is given as scholarships to students who excell academically, artistically, and spiritually, and is also given as grants to students who fit certain criteria.

Academic Merit

Provost Academic Scholarship - up to $5,000 with any combination of the following:

4.00 GPA - $4,000
3.75 GPA - $3,500 SAT 1200* or ACT 27 - $1,000
3.50 GPA - $3,000 SAT 1100* or ACT 24 - $750
3.00 GPA - $2,500 SAT 1000* or ACT 21 - $500

*SAT score based on Math and Verbal only

President's Scholarship (available for up to four students) - 75 percent tuition after application of all financial aid. Must have 3.85 GPA and SAT 1300 or ACT 30. Must maintain a 3.50 as a current student to renew (additional documents required).

National Merit Finalist - Eligible to receive 100 percent tuition after application of all financial aid

Early Bird Grant - $1,000 based on application and acceptance dates

Talent

Music Scholarship - Up to $2,500/year to an exceptional musician via recommendation from Music Chair/Department

Promising Musician Award - Up to 100 percent tuition after application of all financial aid to a student receiving a Music Scholarship and who is an exceptional musician based on recommendation of Music Chair/Department and available funds

Athletic Scholarship - Up to $2,500/year to an exceptional athlete via recommendation of Athletic Department

Athletic Red Hawk Scholarship - Up to 100 percent tuition after application of all financial aid student receiving an Athletic Scholarship with exceptional athletic ability based on recommendation of Athletic Department

Ministry

Ministry Dependent Grant - $1,500/year to a dependent of full-time missionary or pastor with remaining need

Christian Worker Dependent Grant - $1,000/year to a dependent of full-time Christian service worker with remaining need

International Missionary Dependent Grant - Up to 100 percent tuition after application of all financial aid to a dependent of full-time missionary serving outside the continental United States with remaining need (additional documents required). Based on fund availability.

Church Matching Grant (Home Church Support) - Up to $500/year. Simpson will match up to $500 of annual support from your home church after Simpson has received the funds from the church. Student scholarships paid to Simpson University and received from church will be matched 1:1 (up to $500). Gifts may be made for any number of students from a church; the gifts must be an official act of the church rather than from individual church members. Wages earned will not be matched.

Pastor Heritage Grant (available for up to 4 students) - Up to 100 percent tuition after application of all financial aid to a dependent of full-time pastor planning to major in an area of Christian service (additional documents required)

Other

Immediate Family Grant - $500 per student/year to an immediate family member concurrently enrolled in traditional undergraduate program

Travel Grant - $1,000/year to a student from outside the state of California, including foreign countries

Trustee Grant - $1,000/year to a student in receipt of Trustee/Director Scholarship Certificate

Cal Grant Supplement Grant - Up to $6,000/year, after application of all financial aid. State appropriation varies depending on student in receipt of Cal Grant.

Home School Grant - $1,000/year to a student home-schooled at least 75 percent of high school career
