FAQ's
What does the staff level refer to?
The staff levels are assigned by administrators and are based on general assignment of responsibilities rather than personal qualification.
What does exempt/ non-exempt mean?
The definition of an exempt position is a position that performs job duties as executive, administrative, professional, or outside sales in nature. The federal government has specific requirements that a position must meet to be classified as an exempt position. By the nature of the position it can be classified as an exempt position and therefore overtime pay is not required by law.
Why isn't the pay listed for each position?
Recognizing that both the employee and the University benefit when satisfactory wages are paid, the University endeavors to establish wage rates within the range of those offered for comparable positions in similar organizations in the region served by the University. Since job requirements and professional expertise differ greatly among the different job categories at the University, salary is dependent upon the position, the candidate's experience, and budgetary allocations within the hiring department. Salary will be discussed with prospective employees during the final interview process.
