What to Expect

Orientation Weekend is a short period of time for us to fully acquaint you with our university.

There are several details for you to finalize during this weekend. Here is a glimpse of what students and parents can expect during the weekend:

Move into the Residence Halls

The aspect students most look forward to is moving into their residence hall and meeting their roommate. Students will be able to move into their rooms and meet their Resident Director, Resident Assistant, roommate, and new neighbors.

Take Care of Business

If you haven’t completed your course registration and financing, it can be done online now so that your time on campus can be better spent enjoying the activities we have planned for you. Click here to register or contact your Admissions Counselor at 1-888-9-SIMPSON today if you need assistance.

Meet Staff and Faculty members

When you arrive on campus, many people will be waiting to greet you. Students will have an opprtunity to meet their admission counselor, academic advisor, FYE Leader and class professors. Parents will have an opportunity to have dessert with faculty and staff members on Friday evening and enjoy breakfast with the president.

Meet New Students

Students will be assigned to an FYE Group led by a student leader. FYE Groups will participate in several activities such as a square dance or various competitions to help build solid connections with other new students. The Residence Life student leaders have floor events planned to help new students to bond with their new community.

Get Involved

Simpson offers many leadership opportunities for students, including roles as resident assistants (RAs), activity coordinators, and as members of student government (ASBSU), worship teams, mission teams, ministry teams, clubs, and minority student fellowships.
