Welcome to Simpson University!

Orientation Weekend is designed to introduce you to Simpson University and the Redding community! You will be greeted by your admissions counselor, and student leader called an FYE (First Year Experience) leader, who are here to make sure your transition to Simpson is as smooth as possible. These students are ready to meet you and are eagerly awaiting your arrival. In order to properly adjust to Simpson life, we ask that you attend all the orientation activities during the weekend.

 

During Orientation Weekend, STUDENTS will have the opportunity to:

• Move into their residence hall room
• Meet their academic advisor and other faculty and staff members
• Take care of last minute details with classes and financial aid
• Meet their Admissions Counselor 
• Meet their FYE group and FYE leader
• Enjoy a Western BBQ and Square Dance
• Compete in fun competitions
• Develop friendships with other new students
• Complete any necessary placement tests
• Attend a student-led worship service

 

During Orientation Weekend, PARENTS will have the opportunity to:

• Interact with other parents, faculty, and staff at a welcome reception
• Enjoy breakfast with the President
• Attend a prayer dedication
• Become familiar with campus
• Join the Parent Council
