Simpson University Launches New Major in Healthcare Management

REDDING, Calif. - After recently launching three new majors in outdoor leadership, nursing, and biology, Simpson University continues to expand its curriculum with the addition of a new healthcare management degree this fall.

The B.A. degree in Healthcare Management, which is offered through ASPIRE, Simpson's accelerated degree-completion program, is designed for students who are beginning a career in a healthcare organization or who want to advance their healthcare career. The new major will equip students with a broad-based business perspective and the knowledge of applying those practices to a health care field.

"We are very excited to offer the next ASPIRE major targeting the healthcare industry in the north state," said Dean of ASPIRE, Patty Taylor. "In January we began the RN to BSN step-up major which will continue with new starts each fall, spring and summer.  The healthcare management degree will have a strong emphasis on general business practices, coupled with a focus on applying those practices to the healthcare field."

The new major, which will meet one night a week for 16-months, will include classes in areas such as business law, economics of health care, human resource management, and integrated health care delivery systems.

With 3.5 million new jobs projected over the next 10 years, a health care management degree from Simpson University will offer students opportunity and career growth.

Graduates from the new B.A. in Healthcare Management from Simpson University will be prepared for careers in several fields including, pharmaceutical sales, hospital management, government agencies, and insurance management.
