Simpson University bids farewell to graduates, president

REDDING, Calif. - Simpson University will graduate 204 students on Saturday, April 29, 2006, at its campus in northeast
Redding. It will be Dr. James M. Grant's final commencement as Simpson's president. He is retiring after 13 years.

The outside ceremony begins at 10 a.m. on the grassy knoll by the cross near the center of campus.

The graduates, who represent all of Simpson's academic programs, include 133 traditional undergraduates, 56 adult
degree-completion (ASPIRE Program) students, and 15 master's degree students.

The ceremony will include music, selected scripture readings and an awards presentation, as well as a challenge and
celebration led by Dr. Grant.

Founded in 1921, Simpson University is a Christian liberal arts university in Redding, Calif., offering a variety of
undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as a teaching credential program. It is regionally accredited by the
Western Association of Schools and Colleges and a member of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities and the
Association of Independent California Colleges and Universities. Simpson's diverse student body numbers more than
1,000, and its scenic, mountain-view campus continues to grow.
