REDDING, Calif. - Simpson University is pleased to announce the hire of Curt Dodds as the university's new director of information services.

Dodds, who began his duties in September, is responsible for the oversight of staff that supports the information technology across the campus, including educational technology and Internet access for students, faculty, and staff.

Dodds brings more than 20 years of experience to the position. He has previously worked as a software consultant and was a founding partner of Op-Test, a local high-tech start up company.

Having previously worked at Simpson University as the database administrator from July 2002 to August 2004, Dodds is pleased to be back.

"I really missed the community at Simpson," Dodds said. "I believe that Simpson University is entering a time of exciting new growth, and that technology is an important part of that process."

Dodds was hired by Brad Williams, Vice President for Business Services.

"I am delighted to have Curt back at Simpson University," Williams said. "His technology experience, understanding of our community and passion for students make him an ideal person to provide leadership in this critical area. Curt adds strength to what was already a very talented technology team."

Dodds anticipates on-line technology growth at the university and will participate in committees involved with technological needs for the campus.

"I think it's really important to stay abreast on the current technology. Simpson University can and should play a significant role in the community as a leader in information technology. I see an opportunity to collaborate with other technology-oriented businesses," said Dodds.
