REDDING, Calif. - Ryan Frost, a 1997 graduate of Anderson High School, earned his B.A. in Psychology from Simpson University's ASPIRE program on Saturday, Jan. 20.
Frost was among over 100 students receiving their undergraduate and graduate degrees during Simpson's winter commencement. He was one of 64 students who earned their diplomas through ASPIRE, Simpson's accelerated degree-completion program that allows working adults to complete their degree in 16 months.
Frost graduated with a 3.85 GPA, making him eligible for Alpha Sigma Lambda, an honor society for ASPIRE students who receive a GPA of 3.8 or higher.
"This is a great accomplishment. I'm very proud, and I feel like I've earned it," Frost said.
Frost said Simpson University provided him with a solid foundation and prepared him to work in the community.
"My professors were influential. Professors Jim Grubbs and Ira Hamar really prepared me for the next step in my life," he said.
Frost held a full-time job while he earned his degree. He recently obtained a job working for the Tehama County Department of Juvenile Corrections as a counselor for minors.
Frost received his degree with his wife, Sara, son, Brandon, and 11-month old daughter, Katelyn cheering him on.
