HEAD COACH: Mark Starr

Coach Mark Starr began his stint as the head coach of the Simpson University women's soccer program in the fall of 2005. He has been the head coach for the Redding Missfits, Class 1, local girls soccer club for four years.

Starr is also a staff instructor for the CYSA, California Olympic Development Program evaulator, and holds national licesnses in the NSCAA and USSF.

As a player, Mark has competed in the top amatuer levels in Orenge County and Chico.

In addition to his coaching duties, Starr is a mortgage broker. Mark and his wife Kelli had their daughter Tayla in December of 2005. They have one more daughter Juleen (18).

A 1996 Simpson graduate, Jon Thompson returns to his Alma mater for his first year on the Lady Red Hawk coaching staff.

Jon has a broad soccer playing career which includes playing at Simpson, in Argentina, and adult recreation leagues in Redding.

In addition to coaching, Thompson serves on the board of Redding Transformation, a ministry seeking to unify the Redding community through prayer.

Jon and his wife Natalia have been married for 14 years and they have three children, Cami (10), Sofi (9), and Benji (6).
