Vacaville Baseball Stadium Finds Home at Simpson University

Simpson University and Add Some Color, Inc. have announced a partnership that will transfer portions of the present Vacaville Baseball Stadium to Simpson University to construct a baseball stadium on the university’s campus.

Plans for the Simpson baseball stadium were approved today when President Larry McKinney and Jason Kelly, founder of Add Some Color, Inc., a non-profit organization reaching young people through athletic endeavors, signed a proposal stating that Vacaville stadium components will be delivered to the university by Add Some Color, Inc. The partnership states that both parties agree to work cooperatively to raise the necessary funds to complete the stadium project.

Add Some Color, Inc. is in the process of acquiring the Vacaville stadium, known as the Travis Credit Union Park. Portions of the current stadium removed from Vacaville and being transported to Redding include stadium seating, lighting, fencing, and the scoreboard.

Simpson University head baseball coach, Rick Bosetti said, “The addition of this stadium on Simpson’s campus will legitimize our baseball program and separate us from other teams in our conference. It will also provide an opportunity for Simpson to host regional playoffs.”

Dr. McKinney said the baseball stadium at Simpson University will be a benefit to Simpson’s athletic program and the community.

“The relocation of the Vacaville Baseball Stadium to Redding, and more specifically to Simpson University, will provide a wonderful opportunity to advance intercollegiate athletics at Simpson as well as to provide an excellent venue for youth baseball,” he said.

Add Some Color, Inc. will receive priority scheduling of the stadium for their youth baseball teams, particularly during the summer months.

The new baseball stadium will be relocated to land just west of the Simpson University soccer field along College View Drive.
