Rough Road Trip For Women Soccer

Women's Soccer - Portland, OR (10/3/2007)

The Lady Red Hawks women’s soccer had a tough road trip to Oregon this week as the faced George Fox University and Cascade College.

On Monday the Lady Red Hawks faced NCAA III George Fox and lost 7-0. The Bruins speed took the Lady Red Hawks by surprise as they jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead. Thirty minutes into the first half the Lady Red Hawks started to push back as they attempted 6 shots and three on goal. In the second half Simpson continued to compete, but the Bruins were just too much as the scored four more goals to increase their lead to seven.

Freshmen Jordan England recorded two shots and one shot on goal. Amanda Tedesco recorded one shot and one shot on goal. Sarah Lillie had seven saves, while Jordan England contributed with three saves.

On Tuesday, they faced non-conference opponent Cascade College as they looked to rebound from Monday’s lose against George Fox. The game went back and forth as neither team could take full control of the game. It wasn’t until the fifty third minute in the second half that Cascade’s Desirae Pino scored when senior goalkeeper Sarah Lillie slipped and the ball was chipped in.

Christian Wade and Courtney Opie each had two shots and one shot on goal.  Sarah Lillie added with one save.

The Lady Red Hawks have the rest of the week off and return to action next Tuesday, October 9 at William Jessup University. Kickoff at 2:00pm.
