Facilities
HERITAGE STUDENT LIFE CENTER
The Heritage Student Life Center serves as the home for Red Hawk basketball and vollyeball. The multi-purpose facility holds two full sized courts as well as three locker rooms, a training room and laundry facility.
In addition to over 30 home contests a year, the gym serves as home for campus chapels, musical events, and other large community events and meetings.
Besides holding the main athletic offices, the Student Life Center also holds the Growth and Development offices, Music Department, and lounges for commuter and resident students.
In 1999 and 2000, the Student Life Center was host to the NCCAA Division II National Volleyball Championships. During the 1999 tournament Simpson won its first-ever national title in front of a racous crowd. Just a few years later, the women's basketball team won the 2002 Division II National Championship in Oklahoma City.
SOCCER FIELD
Built in 2000, the Simpson soccer field has one of the finest natural playing surfaces in all of Northern California.
Bleachers on the west side of the field hold over 100 fans, to go along with ample grass areas for fans along the west sideline and south end of the field.
SOFTBALL FIELD/ BATTING CAGE
The softball field was built in 2001 as home of Simpson softball. While the softball program is not currently participating intercollegiately, the field is used for intramurals and community games and events. Directly next to the softball field is a storage unit and full-sized batting cage.
The batting cage is turfed and used by the Simpson baseball team. In 2003 the baseball team added a double wide pitching mound and bullpen area. The baseball team uses this whole area for light workouts.
The main home field for Red Hawk baseball is the City of Redding's Tiger Field located in downtown Redding, but Simpson University and Add Some Color, Inc. have announced a partnership that will transfer portions of the present Vacaville Baseball Stadium to Simpson University to construct a baseball stadium on the university's campus. The transfer will take several years to complete, but Simpson University will eventually have a stadium on campus.
