Women Lose Season's Final Game

Notre Dame de Namur blankets host Vanguard

The 2003 women's soccer season came to an end on Saturday afternoon with an 8-0 loss against the 3rd ranked team in the nation for NAIA Division II.  Notre Dame de Namur entered the game with an impressive 14-1 overall record and an undefeated 5-0 record in the California Pacific Conference.

Notre Dame wasted no time jumping on the Vanguards and scored their first goal in the second minute of the game.  The Argonauts would add three more goals in the half to go into the break up 4-0.

The second half was much of the same as Notre Dame added to their lead and with four more scores to bring it to the final 8-0 margin. 

The game was also the final game for senior Katie Logan.  Logan, a communications major from Delhi, CA., was acknowledged by her coaching staff and teammates prior to the game for her hard work and dedication.

Simpson finishes the year with a 2-11-2 overall record and 1-5-1 in the Cal-Pac.
