Vanguard Ousted by Visiting Owls

Oregon Tech impressive in win

The Hustlin' Owls of Oregon Tech proved to be too much for the Lady Vanguards Tuesday afternoon, as they took down the host Vanguards 6-0, in a non-conference game played at Simpson.

Goalkeeper Rebekah Lopez (Jr., Ukiah, CA.), had a busy day at the net as the Owls attempted 34 shots.  Lopez had 11 saves on the afternoon.  Simpson trailed 3-0 at the break, as Oregon Tech, an NAIA school located in Klamath Falls Or., would see three of their players score two goals apiece on the afternoon.  Jenna Laubbacher (Jr., San Diego, CA.) led Simpson with two shot attempts.

The Lady Vanguards (0-3) will look to rebound this Saturday as they play host to Menlo College in a 7pm contest that will be played under the lights at Caldwell Park in Redding.
