Three Wins in Three Days

Simpson starts young 2003 season undefeated

In an entertaining game filled with emotion and energy, Simpson starred brighter than visiting Walla Walla and saw the Vanguards keep their 2003 season undefeated.

Both teams, playing their third game in three days, showed a high level of intensity as both teams sprayed the ball around the field.  However, the Vanguards (3-0) would score in the 31st minute of the first half on a penalty kick from Nathan Huntsinger to give the Vanguards a 1-0 lead that would hold up.

Goalkeeper John Walker saw his third consecutive shutout as he held Walla Walla scoreless.  Walker made a brilliant game tying save in the final minutes to deny the Wolves a chance for overtime. 

Simpson will hope to keep up their winning ways as they travel to Walla Walla this week for a three game road trip.
