Simpson Volleyball Comes Back Strong in Tourney
2nd day of action nets two victories

The Simpson women bounced back from their opening round loss to Walla Walla on Thursday evening, to win two matches on Friday in tournament pool play .
The host Vanguards took on the Keelhaulers from Cal State Maritime in the 4:30pm match and swiftly won in three games (30-8,30-12,30-13).
In the evening game to follow, Simpson (2-2) would face West Coast Baptist from Lancaster, Ca. This match turned out to be closely contested but would end up seeing the Vanguards win in three (30-28,30-23,30-22).
Other matches of the Simpson Classic saw Cal Tech gain two victories with wins over Multnomah (30-25,30-15,30-21) and San Jose Christian (30-28,30-13,30-25). In earlier action, San Jose Christian was able to upend Life Pacific College (30-15,30-12,30-25), and Walla Walla College stayed undefeated in the tournament with two victories over Cal State Maritime (30-6,30-14,30-7) and West Coast Baptist (30-14,30-13,30-26) respectively.
The Simpson Classic concludes with the tournament championship on Saturday evening at 7pm at the Heritage Student Life Center.
