Simpson Repeats as Champs at CalTech Tourney

Alicia Dahl named MVP of Thanksgiving event

The Red Hawks picked up wins over Southwestern College and Emerson College on the way to defending their Cal Tech Thanksgiving Tournament Champions.

Simpson opened with a 67-26 demolishing of fellow NCCAA DII West Region Southwestern College.

Alicia Dahl (Sr., Chico) finished with a triple-double (12 assists, 10 points, 10 rebounds), while Nicole Hall (Jr., Jackson) led all scorers with 21 points.

Joelle Bain (Fr., Haines, OR) had her first collegiate double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds.  She also led the team with seven steals.

A day later the Red Hawks knocked off NCAA DIII Emerson College 56-51 in the championship game.

Hall again led all scorers with 16 points, while Dahl added 11 points and seven steals.  Bain ripped down 13 more rebounds, and Hannah Journey (Sr., Etna) hit 5-of-9 shots for 12 points to go with eight rebounds.

Alicia Dahl was named the tournaments MVP and Nicole Hall was placed on the All-Tournament Team.

Simpson is back in action on December 10 at Northwest Christian.
