'Lopes Too Much for Red Hawks

NCAAA DII Grand Canyon defeats Simpson

The men's basketball team fell to visiting NCAA DII Grand Canyon University 90-60 on the day after Thanksgiving.

The Red Hawks hung tough, but could not match the height, speed, and power of the 'Lopes.

Ben Saunders (Jr., Alta) was 3-of-6 from behind the arch and finished with a team high 13 points.  Todd Dwyer (Fr., Redding) and Grant Drake (Jr., Palmdale) were the only other Red Hawks in double digits with 10.

Noe Alonzo led Grand Canyon with 22 points.  The 'Lopes controlled much of the game, but Simpson held close closing to within ten just before half before a late run by Grand Canyon.

Simpson is back in action at home on December 9th when they host Multnomah Bible College at 7:30 p.m.
