Lady Red Hawks Fall In Semifinals

Back-to-Back Champs prevail 44-50

The two-time defending national champions Kentucky Christian held Simpson to just 44 points as they won a semifinal matchup 50-44.

In what was recognized as the top matchup in the tournament, the Lady Red Hawks could not come up with quite enough to make a final push for a second national title.

Joelle Bain was the lone Red Hawk in double-digits with a game-high 16 points and also grabbed nine rebounds.  Hannah Journey was all over the boards as she ripped down 17 rebounds.

Kentucky Christian ended up as the national champions again, the third year in a row, after defeating Mid-America.

Simpson will face Maranatha Baptist for Third Place.
