2005-2006 Basketball Schedules Released

Red Hawks will play in tough preseason tourneys

General Sports News - (7/5/2005)

The 2005-2006 basketball season begins with workouts in September, but doesn't officially get going until the return of the Simpson Invitational Women's Basketball Tournament on November 3rd-5th.  It will be a tough test early on for the Red Hawks as they host Walla Walla College, Southern Oregon University and former Simpson head coach Steve Sain and his California Baptist University Lancers.

The men's team will also be challenged early in preseason tournaments.  They open up at the Oregon Institute of Technology Tournament on November 4th and 5th before going home-and-home with Southern Oregon University.  After another brief trip to Oregon (Northwest Christian and Eugene Bible) the Red Hawks will fly to Grand Junction, Colorado and play in the NCAA DII Mesa State College Tournament.

December marks the return of the men's version of the Simpson Invitational as the Red Hawks play host to Life Pacific, Walla Walla College and West Coast Baptist.

Meanwhile, the Lady Red Hawks are traveling for most of November and early December as they hit up Southern Oregon, Northwest Christian, Concordia University (Ore.), San Diego Christian, and Hope International.

All of this before the tough California Pacific Conference schedule begins on December 9th in a double-header at home against I-5 corridor rival William Jessup University.
