Men's Basketball Adds Size, Depth
Red Hawks sign Metz, Seabert, Smucker, Mulligan, Johnson

The Simpson University athletic department has announced the signings of five men’s basketball players for the 2005-2006 season that will add much needed size and depth to the Red Hawks.
Leading the way is 6'7" forward Mike Seabertof Rincon Valley Christian in Santa Rosa, CA. "Mike brings great size and depth in the post," says head coach Bill Callaway. Seabert averaged well over a double-double for the Eagles, who finished the season 25-6 and a perfect 12-0 in the North Central League.
Also joining the Red Hawks and adding depth to the front line in local star Daniel Metzof Redding Christian. The 6'4" Metz led the Lions to a 22-5 (12-0 North Valley League) record averaging 10.6 points and 5.5 rebounds a game. "Dan has tremendous upside," comments Callaway of Metz, who was named Honorable Mention All-Record Searchlight team.
The third in the group of signings is 6' guard Aaron Smuckerof Santiam Christian in Corvallis, Oregon. "Known more for his strong defense, Aaron was part of a state runner-up team in Oregon," notes Callaway.
Joseph Mulligan, a 6'3" guard/forward out of Clear Lake High School, has also signed to play his college ball at Simpson. Mulligan, a three-year letter winner at Clear Lake, has been a scholar-athlete and been on the National Honor Roll.
The last of the group to sign is Adonis Johnsonout of Manteca High School. The brother of current Red Hawk Calvin Johnson, Adonis has been named Most Valuable Player and Best Offensive Player.
