After nearly a week off the women's volleyball team was ready to go and firing on all cylinders as they breezed past visiting Mills College 30-14, 30-24, 30-19 Friday afternoon at Mountain View Middle School.
Simpson was strong at the net as they came up with 20 blocks as a team, and Leah Reginato(Fr., Palo Cedro) provided the offense with 10 kills for the Red Hawks. Darlene Bower (Sr., Vacaville) had 16 assists and Stacy Viss (Fr., Modesto) added five kills, four aces, and six digs in the easy win.
A night later, the Red Hawks faced a tougher test in 7-1 (Cal Pac) Holy Names, who proved to be too much in a 19-30, 12-30, 9-30 loss. Reginato led Simpson with nine digs, while Danae McGrath(Fr., Medford, OR) and Viss added two aces and seven digs each.
The Red Hawks (6-6, 4-5 Cal Pac) look to rebound against a very tough Dominican squad next Saturday.
