Social Science for Teachers
The goal of this program is to educate students in multiple areas of human history in conjunction with biblical understanding. Students in this course of study have the opportunity to develop under the tutelage of our highly skilled history department as they learn alongside students with the same goals and aspirations, allowing them to leave Simpson having built upon their foundation of historical and social understanding firm relationships with their professors, their peers, and their God and continue on to educate younger generations in the area of Social Science.
The Social Science for Teachers (Social Science Single Subject) major is approved as a subject matter program for students desiring a single-subject California Preliminary Teaching Credential in the social sciences. Students learn all the necessary aspects of the history of the United States and other powerful countries, as well as gain an understanding of the human condition through psychology, sociology, civilization and religious history. Students under this major learn how the peoples and civilizations of the world developed into their current standing, giving them the needed understanding to relate to these peoples and civilizations through biblical understanding and teach from a loving perspective.
