Educational Background:
- M.S., University of British Columbia
- M.B.A., University of Calgary

Profile:
Before coming here to Simpson, Gary spent more than 13 years traveling and working in about 16 countries in Europe, Africa and the Americas. His teaching experience ranges from kindergarten to university graduate level. Gary spent two years in relief and development work in West Africa, three years as a 'tentmaker' in Venezuela, five years as a bi-vocational pastor in Miami's inner city, and about a year serving with his wife as surrogate parents in a home for single pregnant girls contemplating adoption.
Predominantly, his work experience lies in the development and use of Information Systems. He has done a variety of things in MIS from very small projects on his own, to being a part of a very large team working on a multimillion dollar development project.
Gary believes passionately in the need for integration of faith in our programs, classes, and ultimately, within each of our lives. His overall goal is to challenge students to begin to realize and fulfill God's call on their lives, regardless of the career (or careers) He is preparing them for.
Gary is involved in the community in leadership with the Shasta Technology Association and on the Shasta College CIS Program Advisory Board. He is also an active member of Neighborhood Church of Redding.
Gary and his wife Lori have four teenage daughters and his leisure time is spent fixing things around home. He loves doing most things that involve being out of doors and in nature. His favorite part of his job is mentoring students.
