Giving
The Annual Student Scholarship Fund
One of the best ways you can give is to the Annual Fund. The funds given here go directly to provide financial aid to our students. Fully 97% of our students need some form of financial aid. You will be helping ensure that these students are able to complete their college education and reduce the burden of student loans they must pay far into the future. Your participation in this fund also helps the school demonstrate a high level of support to other donors and foundations. It will help develop even greater resources for the future. Planned Gifts
Planned gifts are those for which a donor retains an interest and the charitable use by Simpson University is deferred to some future time. Common planned gifts include bequests, charitable remainder trusts, charitable gift annuities, life insurance distributions, and outright gifts of cash, stock or real estate. Simpson University Foundation staff can assist you in making a planned gift that satisfies your needs while advancing the mission of the university.
Memorial or Tribute Gifts
Many people enjoy honoring friends or loved ones by donating a gift to the Pathways of Remembrance. These are three pathways on campus that are dedicated to each of the three campuses on which Simpson has resided. Alumni, parents and friends of the university enjoy paying tribute by buying a brick or a tree or a class plaque for the pathways. For more on pathways gifts, go to Pathways of Remembrance.
Capital Gifts
These are usually large gifts and can be designated to go toward a building, equipment or a particular program of the university. These gifts are very important if the university is to advance in all areas. These gifts could also go to launch a capital campaign. The university is careful to make sure the donors wishes are followed whenever a capital gift is received.
Endowment Gifts
Endowment gifts are those gifts that are invested so as to create a growing endowment for the university. Endowed scholarships must have a beginning principal of $10,000.00. The interest on these scholarships is awarded to students every year. The donor may set the criteria for awarding the scholarship.
