Rebecca CarterCareer Services Coordinator/Ministry Practicum Instructor
B.A. Elementary Education, MidAmerica Nazarene University, 1999
B.A. Psychology, Simpson College, 2004
My husband and I have been at Simpson University since 2002. Prior to moving to Redding, California, we lived in Mansfield, Ohio where I was a Reading Specialist within the public school system. I have served in a variety of roles in our few short years at Simpson, some of which include: Women's Collegiate Volleyball Assistant Coach, Adjunct Faculty as Christian Ministry Practicum Instructor, Growth and Development Secretary, LIFE conference counselor, Conquest Staff Leader, summer mission team staff sponsor, and a member of the Healthy Relationships Task Force.
As the Career Services Coordinator, I have a strong desire to help students discover what God has designed them to do. This process of discovering one's talents, interests, and career options can be a very complex one, requiring much prayer, planning, and discernment.
My professional interests include:
- Establishing learning environments that challenge and motivate students
- Aiding others in their spiritual, emotional, and mental development
- Discovering ways to serve those who are in need (the poor, disadvantaged, etc.)
