Alumni Association
What is an Alumnus?
Most people think you must have graduated from Simpson to be considered an alumnus of the college. But the fact is that according to the Alumni Association By-laws "Alumni shall consist of all those who have graduated from Simpson University and all traditional undergraduates who, upon withdrawal, have completed 24 credits or more of study at said college. In the case of ASPIRE or graduate students, only those receiving a degree will be considered alumni.
So, an alumnus is one who has completed at least 24 units in the traditional undergraduate program, as well as all others who have received a degree from the college. Congratulations Alumni!

The Alumni Association has two core documents that provide the foundation and give direction to the organization. The first is the Constitution and By-laws; the second is the Strategic Plan. Each of these provides structure and guidelines for the vision and mission of the association.
The Constitution and By-laws were originally adopted in May, 1963. They have been revised four times, most recently in April of 2003. The Strategic Plan was written in August, 2001 and was most recently revised in February of 2007.
These documents are dynamic instruments that provide a strong foundation but can be adapted as the needs of the college and its alumni change. If you would like a copy of either of these documents, please contact the Alumni Office at alumni@simpsonuniversity.edu
