Men's Baseball - (8/22/2007)
Second year Head Baseball Coach Rick Bosetti signs ten players to join the Red Hawk Baseball program for the 2008 season. The list includes four transfers and six incoming freshmen.
Topping the list of signees is Danny Morrow. Danny is transferring in for his senior year from Biola University. He had a hitting average of .303 and had 37 RBI's.
Another transfer is Robert Nugent. Robert is a transfer student from San Bernadino Valley College. He set a school record for a second basemen with 31 double plays. Robert will be a junior.
Also coming in as a transfer is Billy McLane. Billy is transferring over from Shasta College. He played first base and DH while at Shasta and will be competing for playing time at both positions.
Concluding the transfers is Ryan Cadaret. Ryan is transferring in from Cal Poly Pomoma. He is recovering from Labrum surgery and his playing time will be predicated by the progress in his throwing arm recovery. Ryan is a catcher who also plays in the outfield.
Highlighting the freshmen class is Daniel Clarke. Daniel is from King's Academy High School in San Jose, CA. He will be competing for the first base and outfield positions.
Michael Oman is an incoming freshmen from La Costa Canyon High School in San Diego, CA. Michael will be seeing considerable time behind the plate as a catcher. Bosetti's thoughts on Michael, "His defense is above average and he will be getting at bats to work on his hitting".
Also coming in as a freshmen is Jacob Sanchez. Jacob will be competing for a position in the outfield that is wide open with only two returning outfielders that were not starters.
Patrick Roman form Escondido High School in Escondido, CA is an incoming freshmen and plays short stop. He will be competing for playing time as a short stop and will be given an opportunity to play other infield positions.
Trace Klein is an incoming freshmen from Mesa, AZ and is primarily a second basemen. He is coming off of a successful summer season and the plan is to get much experience for Trace as possible in competing for second base.
And the finally local high school product Zach Gibbins from Anderson High School. Zach is a primarily a center fielder, but has the capability to catch and might see some time there this upcoming season. He was a multi-sport athlete earning All Stat honors in both football and wrestling.
