REDDING, Calif. - Elverta student Jordan England recently signed a letter of intent with the Simpson University Red Hawks to play for the women's soccer team during the 2007-2008 school year.
England, who attends Antelope View Charter School, has played four years of varsity soccer for Center High School as the starting goalkeeper. In addition to playing high school soccer, England also participates in a competitive soccer league where her team took first place during the Nike Harvest Cup in Irvine. Her athletic achievements include being the 2006 Capital Valley Conference all-conference goalkeeper.
Mark Starr, Simpson University women's head soccer coach, said, "Jordan is an extremely athletic and talented goalkeeper who will make an already strong defensive team even better. We are looking forward to having her goal for us for the next four years."
England said there were several factors that made her choose Simpson University.
"Simpson University offered majors that I was interested in, and I felt as though the campus environment would be a good fit for me," said England. "I'm excited to join the women's soccer team."
England plans to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree in outdoor leadership and will join the Red Hawks on an athletic scholarship from Simpson University.
