This leadership position is responsible for the recruitment, enrollment, admissions, enrollment support and financial aid operations of Simpson University. Primary responsibilities include: student recruitment and student financial services for new and returning students for all university programs, managing personnel in each of the areas noted above, while delivering financial aid (institutional aid, endowed scholarships and state and federal funding sources) according to University policies and within regulatory guidelines. This position reports to the President.

Qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant experience required
  2. Seven years of progressive management experience in a related higher education setting
  3. Experience in and understanding of sales cycles, direct marketing, telemarketing, financial aid, student accounts and collections
  4. Knowledge and experience utilizing client/customer relationship management (CRM), e-marketing, and website technologies to recruit students
  5. Knowledge of marketing and willingness to stay on leading edge of skills and techniques in student recruitment, especially for the Christian college market
  6. Working knowledge of all programs offered to students, as well as other student services
  7. Exceptional leadership abilities, including the ability to relate well with people, the ability to train develop and motivate a team and the demonstrated ability to delegate and hold staff accountable
  8. Highly motivated self starter
  9. Excellent analytical, organizational, troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  10. Strong accounting and computer skills
  11. Strong communication skills (including writing, speaking and interpersonal)

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide leadership, administrative oversight and policy/protocol/process development for Enrollment Services, including the areas of enrollment, admissions, enrollment support, financial aid and student financial services. Oversight includes creating, maintaining and coordinating enrollment strategies and policies.
  2. Responsible for setting visionary University recruitment goals (short term and long term) in cooperation with the President and his cabinet, and successfully meeting those goals.
  3. Provide general supervision of recruitment planning and development of recruitment materials and delivery systems in conjunction with the deans of various schools.
  4. Work with the Vice President for Marketing and Development in coordinating advertising, publications and printing projects based on recruitment goals.
  5. Understand and provide the resources necessary to make the recruitment effort successful.
  6. Report directly to the President on a regular basis and is a member of the President’s Cabinet.
  7. Responsible for budget preparation and management according to the guidelines of the President.
  8. Responsible for working to consistently lower the University’s cost per recruit.
  9. Develop, implement and track new methods, techniques, ideas and markets for recruiting.
  10. Serve as administrative liaison with parents of prospective students.
