Description:
This position will manage and assist in the overall efforts of marketing Simpson University through the use of web technologies, electronic communications and graphic design. This position will consult with various departments to meet the needs of the university in regards to branding, policies, procedures, and quality standards. In addition this position will manage the collection of data from web site traffic and online communications to assist in tracking the effectiveness of the Marketing efforts. The web administrator manages the content management system and server, is responsible for minimizing website down time. There is a high degree of consequence of error, given the utilization of website activity relating to enrollment. This position reports directly to the Director of Marketing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in related field required
- Minimum of 5 years experience in web development and graphic design
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience
- High-level experience with all aspects of development and development cycles including creation, expiration and reuse
- High-level experience in Microsoft Windows 2000 and 2003 Server environments; Microsoft IIS; LDAP/Active Directory; Microsoft SQL Server; Mac OS X; Adobe and Macromedia Creative Suites; ASP; Vb Script; JavaScript; RedDot Content Management Server; HTTP, HTTPS and FTP protocols; secure certificates, web securities
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, written and customer service skills with a superb attention to detail
- Excellent understanding of web development practices and scaling, web technologies including standards, compliance and accessibility
- Excellent understanding of computer technologies and networking
- Excellent problem solving and planning skills

Responsibilities:
- Design websites, landing pages and web advertisements with input and direction from marketing.
- Assist in the design of university print materials such as brochures, business cards and ads.
- Design front-end user interfaces and report layouts in HTML for business web applications
- Manage all web components of www.simpsonuniversity.edu
- Manage the content management system
- Develop technical procedures to assist Marketing department’s communications objectives
- Develop high availability systems to ensure communication with internal and external constituents
- Work with all university departments for content development and to ensure accuracy
- Supervise the web workgroup within the Marketing department
- Hire, train and supervise staff
- Assess and recommend software and hardware purchases including research, trial/demo, and consultation with vendors
- Research current technological development trends that can be implemented to assist in the communications efforts of the Marketing department
- Demonstrate, prepare and manage documentation of projects related to upgrading the website
- Assist in the strategic development of university web infrastructure
- Oversee all data collection from web logs and email tracking for appropriate reports
